Beyond Social Services
Beyond Social Services is a charity organisation that helps underprivileged children and youth break away from the poverty cycle by providing them with guidance and resources to stay in school. The organisation hopes that by 2025, every child in Singapore will be able to live independently without turning to welfare or delinquency regardless of their economic background.
Over the years, the organisation has continually fostered a positive environment for kids and youth to learn through their Healthy Start Child Development Centre and Youth United programmes, while linking their caregivers and guardians to job and training opportunities. To date, Beyond has reached out to families residing in over 10,000 rental units in government rental blocks throughout Singapore.
Beyond has also pioneered many smaller programmes and initiatives aimed at community development for individuals of all ages, one of which is Beyond Bakers. This programme provides underprivileged women with baking projects, kitchen space, and equipment to help them generate a source of income for themselves and their families. Now in its seventh year, Bakers Beyond has its own dedicated facility in Whampoa Drive, and has even nurtured members who have gone on to start their own food-related businesses externally.
At Boutiques, our Circle Conversations have also lent space to Beyond Bakers to share their inspiring stories of grit and determination with our larger community. You can lend support to the initiative and the groups they uplift by shopping the delicious bakes from Beyond Bakers at our fair.
