Indian Spicebox
On top of advocating for healthy, home-cooked food and the benefits of spices, Indian Spicebox is committed to filling bellies with wholesome, homemade meals — especially those who need it most. Every product sold helps them provide nutritious meals for 10 impoverished children, and they aim to fund a million of such meals by 2025. Indian Spicebox’s mission is facilitated through close partnerships with Food for Life Vrindavan (FFLV) and Annamrita, both of which are dedicated to breaking the vicious cycle of malnutrition and illiteracy among children.
A humanitarian association officially recognised by the Indian Government, FFLV works in the poorest villages in the Vrindavan area, where they are helping numerous underprivileged children and women satisfy their basic nutritional needs with the provision of more than 2000 meals daily. Meanwhile, Annamrita Foundation serves over a million meals every day through its 20 kitchens across India. It currently runs the Midday Meal Scheme, a programme that supplies free lunches to children in select schools in India, with the goal of improving the effectiveness of education through bettering the nutrition of students.
